How to Print Avery 5267 Labels

By Filonia LeChat

Labels are an ideal way to help you keep track of anything from file folders to recipes. They can also save your hands by automating the task of writing your name and address on envelopes. Labels come in a variety of pre-cut sticker paper sizes; the way to maximize their usefulness is to create a sheet of labels cut to their exact size. Take advantage of software programs' Avery 5267 label templates or create your own templates and start labeling.

Using Word

Open Word and click the "Mailings" tab at the top of the screen. Select the "Labels" button on the left side of the ribbon/toolbar below the tab. Click the graphic of the label in the bottom-right corner of the window.

Pull down the "Label Vendors" menu and select "Avery US Letter." Scroll through the options and double-click Avery 5267, "Easy Peel Return Address Labels." Click the "New Document" button and a full page of labels in four columns open in a new Word window.

Click the cursor into the top-left label on the page. Type the label information. Highlight the new text and click the "Home" tab at the top of the screen. Change the text's appearance using the options on the "Font" section of the toolbar.

Highlight all of the text on the label. Press the "Ctrl" and "C" keys to copy it. Click into the next blank label on the page. Press the "Ctrl" and "V" keys to paste in the copied label. Repeat to paste the label into the other blank labels on the page. Make any changes to the text as required.

Add label paper into the printer and turn it on. Click the "File" tab at the top of the screen. Select "Print." Nudge the "Copies" box up to the number of sheets of labels to print and click the "Print" button.

Using Paint

Open Paint, click the Paint button and select "Properties." Type "0.5" into the "Width" box and "1.75" into the "Height" box. Select "Inches" and click "OK."

Choose a small colored box from the "Colors" section of the ribbon/toolbar. Click the "Text" tool, the "A" icon. Click the label, choose a font and text size and type the label text. Change paint colors and text sizes as desired.

Click the "Select" button on the ribbon/toolbar. Choose "Select all." Press the "Ctrl" and "C" keys on the keyboard to copy the label. Click the Paint button, select "Properties" and change the page size to "8.5" width and "11" inches. Press the "Ctrl" and "V" keys on the keyboard to paste in the copied label.

Paste a total of 80 copies of the label, in four columns of 20, on the page. Leave an 0.031-inch margin on the top and bottom and 0.1 margins on the left and right sides of the page and in between each column to ensure proper positioning for the labels.

Click the Paint button and select "Print." Turn on the printer, load in the label paper and nudge up the "Number of copies" box to the number of pages of labels to print. Click the "Print" button.

Using Publisher

Open Publisher and click the "Labels" button under the "Most Popular" section of the "Available Templates" screen. Scroll to the bottom of the screen to the "Manufacturers" section. Click the "Avery US Letter" file folder. Double-click the Avery 5267 label and it opens in the Publisher workspace.

Click the "Insert" menu at the top of the screen. Select "Draw Text Box." Draw a text box on the label.

Type the label information, such as an address or a person's name and slogan. Highlight the text and click the "Home" tab. Alter the font, text color, size and position using the options on the ribbon/toolbar.

Click the "File" tab at the top of the screen. Click the "Print" button. Make sure the "Multiple copies per sheet" option is selected under the "Pages" section of the "Settings" area to ensure you print an entire page of labels instead of just one single label.

Turn on the printer and load in label paper. Click up the "Copies of print job" box to the number of sheets of labels to print. Click the "Print" button.

Tips

  • Paint is a basic sketching and drawing program, which is why it doesn't come with preset Avery templates. Because of this, you set up your own version of the template from scratch, making the original label to fit the 5267 size, then pasting copies of it to fit the label paper's 80-per-page format.
